(SHAREHOLDERS EQUITY - DIVIDENDS PAYABLE) / TOTAL LIABILITIES

 

This indicator measures in percentage terms the autonomy of the company's shareholding in covering the total exposure to third parties (third-party means). It is useful for the analysis of the company's capital strengths and for the companys structural analysis in the company's financial statements comprised of balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements. In fact its value is the ratio of net equity (shareholders equity minus dividends payable) and total liabilities (current liabilities and long-term liabilities) because it aims to provide an information such as the degree of indipendency of company's shareholders compared to the overall company's indebtedness.
